Silicon Valley Innovator Taps Senior BEA Sales Veteran to Build Out and Guide its Global Sales, Service and Support Operations

Mountain View, CA - - April 26, 2004 - - Azul Systems, Inc., a dynamic and pioneering technology company today announced that it has appointed Matthew W. McLaughlin as Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations.

McLaughlin joins the world-class team at Azul Systems with extensive sales, channel development and strategic marketing experience gathered during his career at BEA, WebLogic, BackWeb Technologies and Insignia Solutions. His proven leadership ability will be instrumental in introducing the company's solutions to the market and defining the Azul customer experience.

McLaughlin will report directly to Stephen DeWitt, the company's president and CEO. "Adding Matt to our executive team is a key step forward in the growth and development of our company, and represents our commitment to building a highly customer centric organization," said Stephen DeWitt. "Matt has a remarkable background in building go-to-market teams and has worked closely with some of the most technically savvy customers around the globe."

In his new role, McLaughlin will be responsible for all aspects of customer engagement including sales, service, and support. Matt will also drive the development of Azul's global channel partnerships and alliances and will oversee the build-out of the company's field operations.

Prior to joining Azul Systems, McLaughlin served as Vice President Global Accounts at BEA. In that role, he led and managed all strategic customer accounts and relationships, including numerous leading Fortune 1000 customers such as JP Morgan, Citibank, Vodafone, General Electric and General Motors. His success in building and developing field teams drove rapid growth at WebLogic and later at BEA.
