MOUNTAIN VIEW, California – April 26, 2005 – Azul Systems™ Inc. today announced that the editors of Network World have chosen Azul as one of the “10 Start-ups to Watch” in 2005. The “10 Start-ups to Watch” appears in the annual Network World 200 issue on April 25th, which highlights the 200 biggest publicly traded network companies in North America , based on revenue. The start-ups chosen are those that Network World believes has a combination of innovative technology, market approach, leadership and financial backing to one day make it onto the NW200. Companies, such as Azul, were selected because of how they best represent the breadth of technology areas of importance to the Network World enterprise IT readership. Internal Network World sources – industry reporters, editors, columnists, Test Alliance members, newsletter writers -- and external industry professionals submit nominations, which a panel of NW editors analyzes. "The promise of network attached processing is to create a nearly bottomless pool of compute power for Java-based applications, without forcing modification of those applications. If this works, we could see an end to the costly practice of over-provisioning server resources -- and that's certainly of paramount interest to our executive IT readership," said Beth Schultz, editor, Network World Signature Series. Azul Systems recently announced the industry’s first network attached processing solution, the Azul Compute Appliance, designed to unbound compute resources for Java™ and J2EE™ based enterprise applications. Azul Compute Appliances will dramatically reduce the cost and complexity associated with the economics of compute by eliminating capacity planning at the application level along with much of the cost and complexity associated with the conventional delivery of computing resources. “We are honored to be among the companies that the Network World editors see impacting the industry in 2005,” said Stephen DeWitt , president and CEO of Azul Systems. “Our customers will be the true beneficiaries of our technology that lets them dramatically increase capacity and guarantee application response time under any work load conditions.” About Network World’s Annual Network World 200 Issue About Network World About Azul Systems Legal Notices
