MOUNTAIN VIEW, California - October 27, 2004 - Azul Systems, Inc. today announced that Nick Bacica has joined the company as vice president of operations. In this position, Bacica will be responsible for ensuring the company’s operational excellence, including manufacturing operations, supply chain design, component sourcing and logistics, product quality and order administration.

Prior to Azul Systems, Nick most recently spearheaded operations at Brocade Communications Systems, Inc., where he was responsible for global purchasing, management operations, supply chain management, strategic sourcing and corporate quality. Under his leadership, Brocade significantly retooled its operational and supply chain management strategy, resulting in tremendous improvements in product quality, technical support, costs and customer satisfaction.

Bacica has also held senior-level positions at Cisco Systems, Inc. As director of global transformation, he was responsible for all Cisco’s manufacturing relationships. As director of electro-mechanical commodities, he was responsible for sourcing strategies, capacity, and global quality and cost. Before joining Cisco, Bacica was director, global supply base management at Apple Computer, where he was responsible for all commodities, including semiconductor and electro-mechanical commodities. Bacica has also held senior management positions at Burroughs Corporation and Xerox Corporation.
