How it Works
Zing™ provides a robust, elastic and scalable runtime for Java applications. Zing is able to improve Java application performance and scalability using unique technology not available in other JVMs:
- Optimized for Linux and x86
- Supported collector: Azul C4 (Continuously Concurrent Compacting Collector)
- Heap sizes to over 300 GB
- Elastic memory - dynamic memory allocation (past -Xmx) based on policy
- Reduces worst case JVM stalls to the 10-20 msec range, without any special tuning
- Support for Java SE 6 and most J2SE 5.0 apps*
- 100% Java compatible
- Linux distributions supported: RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SLES
- Pauseless operation
- 64 bit memory addressing
- Full JNI support
- Highly optimized client and server compilers C1, C2
- Tiered compilation by default (e.g. C1 + C2)
- Support multiple languages (e.g. Scala, Ruby)
- 3rd-party APM support (VisualVM, Wily, AppDynamics)
